Maggie Grace (born Margaret Grace Denig on 21 September 1983) is an American actress best well-known for her role in the roles of Shannon Rutherford on the ABC TV series Lost as well as Kim Mills in the Taken trilogy. Her birthplace was Worthington, Ohio and dropped out of high school after her parents divorced to go in Los Angeles to live with her mother. Though she struggled financially and in the beginning, she made her acting debut acting as Rachel's Room's principal character. She plays Faith who's an avid stargazer as well as a groupie. Hank Moody, played by David Duchovny, falls for her. She's a Gyllenhaal, the daughters of Stephen Gyllenhaal (director) and Naomi Achs (producer), she is a bit younger than Jake Gyllenhaal. She began her career when she was a teenager, playing small roles in several of his films. She also appeared alongside her brother in the famous cult classic Donnie Darko (2001). In 2002, she starred as a character in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind. Also, she appeared in Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal received critical acclaim for her performance as the main character of Secretary (2002) which is the erotic drama about romance as well as Sherrybaby (2006). She received a nomination from her fellow actors for the Golden Globe Award. In 2006, she had numerous commercially successful movies including World Trade Center. However it was her performance in the role of Rachel Dawes that brought her more attention with The Dark Knight (2008). After her successful performance as a mother who is not married on the screen in Crazy Heart (2009), she earned the Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress. The following years, she starred in comedies as well as dramatic movies: Nanny McPhee & the Big Bang (2010) Hysteria 2011 and Won't Back Down 2012.
